The Frankfurt Museum Embankment

The museums lined up on Frankfurt's museum embankment often present spectacular exhibitions.

Frankfurt's series of riverside museums is among the world's most important museum ensembles. Avantgarde and old masters, spectacular exhibitions, exciting local history, Goethe and his creative heirs, world culture and financial culture, design and the prehistoric world – these are but some of the marvelous array of themes covered by Frankfurt's museums in an ensemble of buildings quite unique in Europe.

Frankfurt is known for an attractive series of cultural events. Not only the Night of the Museums in spring, but above all the Museum Embankment Festival in summer is a true highlight: As one of the biggest cultural events in Europe it attracts large numbers of visitors to its riverine setting every last weekend in August for a major celebration.
